John Paul II Primary School, Northern Ireland
John Paul II primary school is based in West Belfast, Northern Ireland and has just joined together with a local girls school. They have a large grass area in the school, something that is quite rare in schools in that area, and applied to our programme with the aim for their school and community to plant tree saplings together on the grounds.
They received 50 tree saplings from ERS to set up their own School Tree Nursery in March 2015. Teacher Melanie Collins has provided this update & some photos from their tree planting day:
“My class have really enjoyed learning all about trees in the run up to their arrival. We got the whole school involved in planting them and all the children had a great time getting their hands dirty, an experience they don’t get enough of!”
