In April 2011 a group of Year 11 Horticultural students planted in 30 saplings to create a School Tree Nursery within their wildlife area. The saplings were a mix of Oak and Ash.

The creation of their School Tree Nursery was supported by discussions concerning the value of trees in the environment and their impact on wildlife.

The schools wildlife area is also used within the curriculum by the geography department, as well as after school clubs.
