Mandeville School, St Albans, Hertfordshire

In March 2011 a group of children planted in their saplings as part of their Forest School learning. The 50 Ash and Birch saplings will in time create an extension to the school’s existing woodland area.

Through Forest Schools the pupils have already learnt how important trees are and are looking forward to comparing their new saplings to their older more mature trees.

Their Forest School Leader said “The children are very proud and protective of their trees and worked very hard to get them planted in. The School Tree Nursery Programme fits into many areas of our Foundation and International Primary Curriculum. I carry out so many activities which include trees in some way, the list is endless!”
